SNOWING!!

Okay if you live on the East Coast you know it is snowing and we are suppose to be getting a lot of snow.

On one hand since it is the weekend I should have off and enjoy it.  Just sitting back in the house relaxing (yes there is shoveling to do), reading, watching tv and just taking it easy.

But since I am suppose to work tomorrow I have that worry hanging over my head tonight.  Will I be able to get to work, will the roads be cleared,  will the snow be done for me to try.  If I don't go am I leaving the poor guy on 3rd shift stuck,  plus if I go and the 2nd shift doesn't come in does that leave me stuck.

I know I should just be enjoying watching the snow but these are my worries at the moment.  You notice how I don't write driving.  I don't mind driving if no one gets on my bumper and stays way behind me and I stay way behind the other guy.   I just put the car in 4 wheel drive, put half decent music on (something I want to hear that will take my mind off the road), and take my time.

Heavy sigh never mind the fact that I will have to get up at least 1/2 hour to an hour earlier to shovel. 

I really shouldn't complain this is the really first big storm we have had in a while.  Just hoping it stops before the morning so I don't have to worry about it.

I have a feeling you aren't going anywhere. The roads in the area are closed and you will get a fine if you drive in them. I don't know when they will lift this. The mall (so far) isn't opening until noon, but it looks like it may not open at all. This is a whopper of a storm. Luckily since Laura was away this week and my schedule was weird because of it I actually have OFF anyway! This is the first time I could just sit back and watch it snow. And read!!! And not worry! If you do go out (which I doubt you will), BE CAREFUL.

Well I did make it in to work. I set my alarm for 5:00am. My Dad had already been up at 4:00 unbeknown to me. He had already shovelled the walkway and part of the driveway.

Actually Phoenixville roads where not good, I was being bounced aroudn a little since the way they had plowed. But by the time I got to Valley Forge it was just packed down snow and actually was very pretty driving and no problem. There where a few cars out and about, but mainly plowers. You had to be careful of them because they would start backing up to move forward and not realize you where there.

Amazing that the mall is actually closed at least to noon. It is nice you have off on a Saturday. :)

OMG! You went out in this? I got 29 inches at my house! PA is in a state of emergency, so be careful!! Nobody is suppossed to be on the roads unless they are a plow, emergency vehicle or emergency worker. The mall never even opened (I guess because if you were caught driving you could get a ticket). You are truly dedicated!

I never knew they made a a state of emergency until the afternoon. The channel I was watching in the morning didn't say anything. Then when 2nd shift was coming in the state police pulled him over. He lives in Reading he was 10 minutes from work. The police told him to get off at the next exit and go home (no ticket). The next exit was where the work building was. Since he already drove an 1 1/2 hours he didn't head home. He came in. So when my shift was done I was afraid to leave. Thankfully Mayor Randal was on the TV and said that it was a state of emergency and preferred everyone to stay off the road but he would not ticket anyone. If they had to go out they could. So I headed home. Valley Forge was clear the roads only wet. But Phoenixville was still a mess. (thankfully I only had to drive for a few minutes on that road then I was home). Happy I am home I am wiped out, even though I didn't do much except get up an hour earlier and shoveled before work.
